4A350, what is guidance assistance?

COBOTS

When using the 4A350 manipulator, the operator has guidance assistance. The objective is to allow him not to ask any questions during sensitive handling operations.

The user only manages the movement speed of the 4A350, while the guidance assistance ensures that the part is picked up and put down automatically, using previously defined diagrams. The operator does not need to guide the cobot, which ensures the repeatability of manipulations.

Guidance assistance acts on 2 aspects:

– It adjusts the position of the 4A350 cobot to allow “automatic aiming” of the part. This can result in the raising, tilting and/or alignment of the nose of the gripper on the part, without operator action.

– It limits the movements of the manipulator in space, in particular to avoid collisions with elements of the work environment. We thus speak of “virtual walls” allowing, for example, the cobot to be stationary in a specific location.

These automated pick-up and drop-off cycles are predefined in the project to meet the needs related to the loads handled, and the space in which the cobotic manipulator will be moved.

The objective is to ensure the handling of parts quickly, while respecting the quality of the product and all this in ergonomically compliant positions.
